How Blackbird works

Hire us for one stage, or all three

Most builders only show up for the middle part. Blackbird can start before there are drawings and stay long after the keys change hands.

1 Plan

Before a shovel moves

The money is won or lost here. Get the scope, the budget, and the drawings right and the build stops being a gamble.

2 Build

Ground up, start to finish

One builder carries the schedule, the subs, the inspections, and the budget. You get one person to call, and he answers.

3 Improve

Make what you have better

You do not have to move to get the house you want. Additions, remodels, basements, and outdoor space, built to match what is already there.

Why Blackbird

You hire Danny, and Danny is who shows up

Blackbird is not a sales office with a construction department attached. Danny Bird has been building since 2001, and he is the one who walks your job, writes your number, and answers the phone when something comes up.

  • One point of contact. No handoff from the salesman to a project manager you have never met.
  • The budget comes first. You see real numbers before you commit to drawings, not after.
  • Homes and commercial. Two very different trades. Running both is why the estimating is sharp.
  • He will tell you no. If the budget does not fit the plan, you hear it up front, not in a change order.

What clients say

Proof goes here

This is the highest-value gap on the whole site. A builder with 25 years of work and no public reviews loses jobs to builders with twenty mediocre ones.

Where we build

Questions

The things people ask first

What does "plan, build, improve" actually mean?
It is the three points where a builder can be useful. Plan is everything before construction: feasibility, budgets, drawings, permits, and reviewing what somebody else has already put in front of you. Build is the construction itself, homes or commercial. Improve is work on a building that already exists: remodels, additions, basements, and outdoor space. You can hire Blackbird for one of the three or all three.
Do you take commercial work, or only homes?
Both. Tenant improvements, office and retail build-outs, renovations, expansions, light commercial, and multi-family. Commercial requests go straight to Danny, and you can submit a work request with the scope in your own words.
Can you review a project I have already started with someone else?
Yes, and that is a service on its own. As an owner's representative Danny works for you, not for the builder: reviewing plans, checking bids against real costs, watching the budget, and calling out problems while they are still cheap to fix. When we are hired for this, we are not bidding the work. That independence is the entire point. Whatever you send us, including other contractors' bids, stays confidential.
How much does a project cost?
Nobody can answer that from a web page, and you should be careful with anyone who tries. What we can do quickly is tell you whether your budget and your plan are in the same universe, which is the answer most people actually need first. That conversation is free.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. Danny looks at the job, talks through what you want, and puts a real number in writing. No charge and no obligation.
How long has Blackbird been around?
Danny has been building since 2001, based in Provo and working across Utah County.
